HAMBURG, N.Y. – Director of Athletics Tim Seil is pleased to announce the addition of two new Athletic Trainers to the Hawks' Sports Medicine staff.
Dr. Rylee Haffey and Hailey Lucas are eager to join the growing athletics department which will support 19 Division III athletic programs competing in three different athletic conferences during the 2024-25 academic year.
The Hilbert College Sports Medicine team oversees the overall well-being and health of each student-athlete. Together, Head Athletic Trainer Rylee Haffey and assistant athletic trainer Hailey Lucas will join second-year assistant athletic trainer Miranda Fish to provide the highest level of care to each student athlete while following the code of ethics set forth by the NATA.
"Athletic Training is a very important part of any athletic department, and we were very fortunate to find two high-quality Athletic Trainers, to join Miranda, to work with our student-athletes," said Tim Seil. "I look forward to working with Rylee and Hailey on providing our student-athletes and staff with outstanding support."
Haffey most recently served as an assistant athletic trainer at Lincoln University (MO) providing the Division II athletics program with elite–level health care that incorporated evaluation, manual therapy techniques, functional movement assessment and return to play protocols. She also acted as a mentor for the exercise science, undergraduate and internship students. Before heading to the Midwest, Haffey worked for one year at Excelsior Orthopaedics (Buffalo) as an Urgent Care Athletic Trainer.
The Western New York native was awarded an exercise science degree in 2020 and a master's in athletic training from the University of Buffalo. She earned her Doctor of Athletic Training from Indiana State University in 2023.
Hailey Lucas transitions into her first assistant athletic trainer position after earning her master's degree from Pennsylvania Western University in 2024 and her undergraduate degree in health science from California University of Pennsylvania.
While completing her master's degree, Lucas was assigned to the football, men's basketball, track & field, and women's lacrosse sport programs at Buffalo State University. The Lockport, NY native helped the Bengals' head athletic trainer in all aspects of a competitive Division III sports medicine program. During her undergraduate semesters, Lucas supported the football, women's volleyball, women's swinging and baseball programs at California University while also working at The Orthopedic Group (Penn Highlands), NovaCare Physical Therapy and Brownsville High School.
