Marisa McIntyre opened the 2019 softball season with impressive numbers and earned her first Hawk of the Week honor today.

The 5’4 pitcher from Alder Creek (Adirondack High School) led her Hawks softball team to a 4-5 record after their opening week of the season down in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.

McIntyre started seven of the eight games she appeared in, stuck out 36 batters, tossed 34.1 innings and five complete games.  She currently holds a 4-3 record in the circle with an opponent .52 batting average and 5.24 earned run average.

After being granted a medical hardship waiver at the conclusion of her 2017 freshman season, McIntyre now enters her second season of full competition.  She leads the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference with a 7.41 strikeout per 7 inn average (>than one game played) and 36 strikeouts.
