Henry Bowers picked up another win on the mound for the baseball team and earned his first Hawk of the Week honor.
The Helena, MT rookie finished his second complete game this year and earned his third straight victory with the 8-2 win at Wells College March 25. The right-handed pitcher tossed seven innings, gave up eight hits, two earned runs and fanned four batters.
Bowers and Regis Sauer (Preseason AMCC Pitcher of the Year) lead the league at 3-0 and statically are very close on paper. Bowers has two complete games under his belt (Sauer one), they both covered 19.0 innings, given up 19 hits, and struck out five. Sauer holds the edge with three earned runs allowed with a 1.42 era compared to Bowers 2.37 era (5 earned runs).
