HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for January 5, 2026.
Victoria Battaglia (Women's Ice Hockey) and Jaden Mitchell (Men's Basketball) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week.
Victoria Battaglia (Brampton, Ontario, CAN/St. Thomas Aquinas) totaled two goals and one assist for the Hawks in their 5-4 and 3-1 series losses to Neumann University last weekend. The 5-foot-7 rookie scored in back-to-back fashion just 46 seconds apart to give Hilbert a 2-1 lead, then added an assist on the following goal against the Knights in the series opener. Battaglia capped the weekend by winning 22 faceoffs and blocking three shots.
Jaden Mitchell (State College, Pa./State College | Chatham) delivered several momentum-shifting plays in the Hawks' lone contest following the holiday break. The 6-foot-4 shooter led the team with 16 points while knocking down 3-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc in Hilbert's 82-68 loss to SUNY Geneseo on January 3. Mitchell shot 42.9 percent from the field, both inside the arc and from 3-point range. All three of his three-pointers came in the opening half, with his final make cutting the deficit to six points with 2:28 remaining before the break.
