HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for January 12, 2026.  

Larry Morse (Men's Basketball) and Learsi Sabala (Women's Basketball) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week. 

Larry Morse (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) averaged 22.5ppg and 10.5 rebounds this past week, tallying his 7th and 8th double double of the season. The 6'5 junior forward also recorded his third 30-point outing this winter, helping the Hawks to a 1-1 week.  Morse helped the Hawks score a huge 38-point win over Penn State Altoona and a narrow 7-point loss at La Roche. 

Learsi Sabala (Buffalo, NY/South Park) led the team offensively, converting 13-of-19 free throws while averaging 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game against two AMCC opponents.  The 5-6 guard tallied 29 points and converted on 8-of-16 field goal attempts, recording her second career double double last week. Sabala scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 40 minutes  against Penn State Altoona before hitting 5-of-9 from the floor and 5-of-6 at the charity stripe at La Roche.
