HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College's Ja'Lynn Sanders and Madison Matuszak were each recognized with Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week honors today. Sanders was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week, while Matuszak earned Defensive Player of the Week recognition. 

Ja'Lynn Sanders (Bradenton, FL/Palmetto) carried the offense of the Hawks in an undefeated week after they picked up two non-conference wins.  The 5-8 freshman forward recorded her first career hat trick in the Hawks' 4-0 victory over Theil College midweek and tacked on her fourth goal in Hilbert's second clean-sheet victory of the week against SUNY Cobleskill (2-0).  Sanders earned eight of the Hawks' 14 points and attempted 12 of the team's 43 shots on goal.  Sanders currently leads the AMCC with seven goals, 15 points, 50 shots and 27 shots on goal. 

Madison Matuszak (Java Center, NY/Pioneer) led a Hawks defensive unit that did not allow a goal in a 2-0 week in non-conference play. Matuszak fully erased the biggest threat on Thiel earlier this week, as Hilbert went on to win 4-0, before finishing the week with a 2-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill. Her performances limited opponents' shots all week, holding the Tomcats to just three shots on goal and Cobleskill to only one shot on the day. The 5-9 senior defender also chipped in offensively, tallying an assist on the game winning goal against SUNY Cobleskill.
