HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for April 28, 2025.

Kyle Borrello (Baseball) and Mackenzie Catan (Softball) are being recognized for their athletic performances that led to their team's success last week.

Kyle Borrello (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg | Gannon) had a breakout week at the plate, powering Hilbert Baseball to a 3-1 record that included an AMCC sweep of Penn State Altoona and a series split with Alfred State. The 6-foot right fielder batted .462, collecting six hits, three walks, and six RBIs—all off four home runs. He launched a solo shot to right field to open the nightcap against Alfred State, then capped the game with another blast to the same spot. Borrello finished the week with a dominant 3-for-5 performance, scoring three runs and driving in three more as the Hawks set a program record with nine home runs in a 22-14 win over Penn State Altoona.

Mackenzie Catan (Oswego, NY/Oswego) turned in the best week of her career for Hilbert Softball, hitting a blistering .714 during a 2-2 stretch that included a Senior Day sweep of top-seeded Penn State Altoona. The 5-foot-7 left fielder went 5-for-7 at the plate with three walks, two doubles, and four runs scored—all while maintaining a perfect fielding percentage. Her standout performance came in game one against Penn State Altoona, going 2-for-3 with two doubles. She also drove in the game-tying run in the fourth inning, setting the stage for Hilbert's decisive fifth-inning comeback.
