HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for November 17, 2025.  

Ari Jones (Men's Basketball) and Michaela Rice (Women's Volleyball) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week. 

Ari Jones (Euclid, OH/Garfield Heights) was impressive in the second week of his college career.  The 6-3 freshman guard made his fourth consecutive start for the 3-1 Hawks and powered them to a pair of quality road game wins. Jones averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds while hitting a blistering 60% beyond the arc.  The rookie sharpshooter converted 4-of-6 shots from the floor (2-for-4 three-point shots) in the 71-64 win at Fredonia State and made 5-9 (2-for-2) from the field in the 87-76 win at Elmira while averaging 21.5 minutes per game. 

Michaela Rice (North Collins, NY/North Collins) was a major contributor to the success the women's volleyball team had in the final week of their season.  The 5-9 Middle Blocker was quick at the net, reacted well in crucial situations and propelled the team to a pair of program firsts – a First Round playoff victory that led to an appearance in the AMCC semifinal game which resulted in a 3-2 loss.  She led the Hawks with 21 kills at an impressive .375 attack percentage while also adding five service aces, 12 digs and three total blocks.  Rice recorded a team-high 27.5 points fueled by 2.63 kills/set and three block assists.
