Hilbert College Hawks
  • The 2024 Hilbert Baseball team, which established a new single season AMCC win record (10), is making the program's sixth overall appearance - fourth consecutive - in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference post-season tournament
  • The Hawks (21-16) earned a 3rd seed and the right to host the program's very first postseason tournament game
  • No. 3 Hilbert (10-6) will battle No. 6 La Roche (7-9) Friday, May 3rd (and Saturday, May 4th, if necessary) at the FSSJ Complex
  • The Hawks are 5-3 over the last four AMCC doubleheaders. Hilbert opened that run with a Thursday afternoon sweep in Pittsburgh against the Redhawks and finished at home with another sweep over Penn State Altoona.  The Hawks split their series with Mount Aloysius before dropping a pair at Alfred State a week ago
In LEAGUE GAMES only:
  • 2B John Riviere-Vejas leads the AMCC with a blistering .462 average. He also leads in hits (30), stolen bases (10) and is second in runs (20).
  • 1B Patrick Whelan is ranked 2nd in the AMCC in RBI (18) and home runs (3) in addition to 127 PO (1.000) at first base
  • OF Nolan Evans leads the AMCC in triples (3), home runs (4), total bases (44), extra base hits (12) and SLG % (.786)
  • RHP Spencer Harford sits at the top in the league with 3 wins over 29.1 innings pitched while RHP Ronald Mort rides a 2.12 era, (2.65 K/9), and a pair of AMCC wins over 17 innings of work. RHP Dylan Moorhouse, who set a new Hilbert single season win record (6), has tossed two complete games after making five starts over 32.0 innings with a 3.94 era and 2-2 record.
  • SS Jairo Santos and Nolan Evans have caused headaches to opponents as they each sit near the top in hits and stolen bases
La Roche Redhawks
  • La Roche will travel to Hamburg, N.Y. for the First Round, best-of-three series Friday, May 3 (and Saturday, May 4th, if necessary)
  • After a six-year domination within the baseball league (2015-2021), La Roche squeaked into the postseason tournament as the 6th seed two of the last three years.
  • The Redhawks slipped into the 6th seed in the six-team postseason tournament after going 2-4 over the last three AMCC double headers.  La Roche most recently split their series against Wells and Alfred State after dropping the pair at home to Hilbert April 18th
  • Larry Bielawski does it all for the Redhawks.  He and Tanner Schmitt generate offense at the plate. Bielawski has pocketed 13 hits, two triples, five stolen bases in addition to a 3-2 record on the mound. Through six starts, he had two complete games, is third in strikeouts and second in innings pitched with a 3.93 era.  Schmitt has the most hits and stolen bases.  Dom Brncic leads the team with five doubles this spring
Series History

The Hawks and Redhawks began their league rivalry in the 2005 season when Hilbert joined the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.  La Roche holds a 21-7 record against Hilbert dating back to April 9, 2005.  The Hawks are currently riding a four-game win streak over the Redhawks over the last two spring seasons.
