ROCHESTER, NY – The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is pleased to announce the addition of Hilbert College as a women's hockey member effective with the 2025-26 academic year.

"We are excited to welcome Hilbert women's hockey to the UCHC," said UCHC Commissioner Chuck Mitrano. "We are pleased to provide a high-quality home for the Hawks as they continue to grow and flourish in women's ice hockey."

Hilbert College, located in Hamburg, N.Y., is a 4-year private Franciscan College founded in 1957 as a two-year teaching college. In 1993, the college began offering four-year degree programs and became an NCAA Division III member. Currently, Hilbert offers associate, bachelors, and master's degrees to individuals looking to amplify the good in the world. Students from diverse backgrounds are educated in liberal arts and professional programs (in person or through online at Hilbert Global) to become informed citizens committed to serving and strengthening their communities.

"Hilbert Women's Hockey is very excited to join the UCHC and compete against strong programs within our region," said Hilbert College Athletic Director Tim Seil. "This partnership will help us provide a great experience for our student-athletes, led by Head Coach Earl Utter who brings a wealth of college hockey experience to our program."

Hilbert recently completed its second season as a women's hockey program in 2023-24. The Hawks have competed against UCHC opponents in its first two seasons and play their home games at Nike Base from the Hamburg Town Ice Arena.

Hilbert currently sponsors 19 Division III sports, the majority competing in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Hilbert has enjoyed a rich athletics history with tremendous success at the conference and national level, including:
  • 7 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships
  • 2 NCAA Tournament Teams
  • 87 First Team All-Conference players, 4 All-Americans and 15 Academic All-Americans and 9 AMCC FAR Awards
  • 11 Conference Coaches of the Year, 10 Players of the Year and 13 Newcomers of the Year
  • 6 NCAA Division III Statistical Leaders
Founded in 2017, the UCHC has developed into one of the premier NCAA Division III hockey conferences, both on the ice and in the classroom. The conference consists of current members SUNY Brockport (men), Chatham University, SUNY Geneseo (men), Manhattanville University, Nazareth University and Utica University. Albertus Magnus College, Elmira College, Hilbert (women) and St. John Fisher University are set to join for the 2025-26 season, giving the men's league nine teams and women's league eight members.

"Hilbert is honored to be joining the UCHC as it gives our students an extraordinary opportunity to compete in a high-quality NCAA conference," said Hilbert College President Dr. Michael Brophy.
