FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Hilbert Women's Hockey closed out its regular-season schedule with a 9–1 loss to St. John Fisher on Saturday afternoon at Rochester Ice Center.
St. John Fisher scored three times in the opening period and carried a 5–0 lead into the second intermission. The Hawks generated a pair of shots on their first‑period power play but were unable to convert before the Cardinals added goals at 4:56, 6:40, and 17:14 to establish early control.
After Fisher added two more goals in the second period and one early in the third, Hilbert broke through at 7:16 of the third when
Brooke Kwiecien scored a power‑play goal assisted by
Jacqueline Alaburda and
Caitlin Conrad as the seniors connected for Hilbert's final tally of the season in their last game with the Hawks. The Cardinals would tack on three more goals before the final buzzer to wrap up the victory.
In goal,
Tia Card and
Jewely Monford combined for 44 saves in their final game, while the Hawks' defense blocked nine shots in front of them.
Kelsey Fuller and
Amelia Murphy led Hilbert with three shots on goal each, while
Victoria Battaglia was 65% in the faceoff dot with 11 wins.
