HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain College Conference released the 2024 Baseball All-Conference Teams and Individual Award Winners today, and Hilbert College placed a program-record eight players on the 45-man list of honorees.

Mount Aloysius College's Tyler Quade was named the Player of the Year while his manager, Kevin Kime was tabbed the Coach of the Year. Alfred State's Ryan Bailey earned the Pitcher of the Year honor and Penn State Behrend's David Gibson was voted the Newcomer of the Year.
John Riviere-Vejas (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Loughlin Memorial) earned his second All-Conference nod during his three-year stop at Hilbert. Riviere-Vejas led the AMCC in batting average, hits and stolen bases during conference play while finishing second in runs scored and fourth in RBI. He finished his final season with 38 runs, 46 hits, nine doubles, two triples, 23 RBIs off .368 batting average. He added 21 more stolen bases this spring to his record setting career where he graduates with four program records: highest stolen base percentage (.938), most runs scored (99), most stolen bases (61) and most stolen base attempts (65).
David Alessi (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute | Medaille) finished the regular season with the third most appearances, posted the third lowest ERA and second lowest WHIP of any reliever with 15+ innings pitched. Alessi tossed 19 innings after making 16 appearances, picking up three wins. He allowed 23 hits, fanned six and finished with a 3.79 ERA.
Dylan Moorhouse (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East | Erie Community College) led the AMCC in wins, WHIP and strikeout to walk ratio during the regular season while finishing second in ERA. He finished his rookie campaign with a 6-2 record after tossing 63.2 innings (three complete games) while allowing 68 hits, 23 earned runs along with striking out 51 batters. He set new program records in lowest earned run average (3.25), and fewest walks allowed/9 inning game (1.55). He set four single season records: most wins (6), most inning pitched (63.2), most ground outs (91) and most shutouts in 2024.
Spencer Harford (Silver Creek, NY/Silver Creek | Erie Community College) was seventh in WHIP, eighth in ERA, ninth in innings pitched and tenth in strikeouts during league play. He made 10 starts during the season, tossed 51.1 innings, allowed 52 hits, 21 earned runs, fanned 48 batters and finished with 3.68 ERA. He established a new program record with opponent batting average (.257).
Nolan Evans (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East | Erie Community College) led the AMCC in triples, home runs, extra base hits, total bases and slugging percentage. He finished his first year at Hilbert with 38 runs, 37 hits, seven doubles, four triples, four home runs, 23 RBIs, and went 15-for-15 in stolen bases.
Patrick Whelan (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon-St. Jude | Medaille) led the AMCC in walks and OBP, was third in home runs, fifth in slugging percentage and second in RBI during league action. He concluded his final season on the diamond hitting .343, (1.047 OPS), scored 27 runs, 36 hits, five doubles, five home runs and 30 RBIs. He led the Hawks with .533 slugging and .514 On Base percentages. He graduates as a 4x all-conference selection and holds six program records: 18 HR, 125 RBI, 237 total bases, 12 most intentional walks and 30 most hit by pitch.
Jack Duffek (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park | Allegheny) finished fifth in the league in doubles, 12th in extra base hits, and 12th in hits. He closed his second season in Hamburg ranked third on the team with a .346 batting average, started all 39 games played this year and finished with 47 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, one home run, 27 RBIs scoring 25 times.
Jairo Santos (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) concluded the regular season ranked third in stolen bases, seventh in hits and 12th in batting average in league play while leading the league in defensive assists. He led the Hawks with a .374 batting average, .872 OPS, 49 hits, 30 RBI, and scored 28 runs. Santos was credited with 16 stolen bases and added six doubles and one triple while leading the Hawks defensively with 107 assists.
This year's Hilbert team continued to elevate the baseball program's success under Coach Fittry's guidance. The Hawks strung back-to-back 20-win seasons together after finishing 21-18 this spring. Their 10-6 conference record put them back into the AMCC postseason tournament for the sixth time over the last eight seasons and secured the program's very first home playoff game when they hosted the No.6 seed in the First Round game on campus.
