PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Hilbert College Men's Track and Field team returned to the Cardinal Invite hosted by St. John Fisher University and the Hawks continue to impress.
Six new records were set today with just two new events added to the team's profile this afternoon.
The Hawks, for the first time in program history, fielded a 4x100, a 4x400 and a 4x800 relay team.
The 4x100 group of
Zai'Mar Covington,
Zy'Mere Covington,
Da'Von Cockrell, and
Camron Silver sprinted to a new record of 45.40.
Nazir Mckelley advanced to the finals of the 110M hurdles then set the new record with an 18.23 clip.
Noble Arterberry broke his old record with a 10.27M toss in the shot put while
Ben Anderson established the discus record after spinning and releasing a 26.14M toss.
Zai'Mar Covington now holds the 100M record (11.26) and
Zy'Mere Covington broke his record with a 13.01 M triple jump distance, just .12m off the leader.
Hilbert will continue to prepare for the Track & Field program's first postseason tournament. The Hawks will compete in the AMCC/United East Conference Track and Field Championship which will be held in Erie, Pa, the May 4th and 5th.
