HAMBURG, N.Y. - The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Hilbert College Men's and Women's Soccer programs were well represented with a total of 11 Hawks earning recognition.
Women's Soccer:
Senior defender
Courtney Geier, junior midfielder
Laura Smith and junior forward
Vanessa Van Slyke are all repeat performers having earned the same recognition in 2023. They are joined by sophomore goalkeeper
Keira McFarland, and sophomore midfielder
Michaela Olson on the 2024 All-District team.
Men's Soccer:
Junior midfielder
Carter Burke, junior defender
Jacob Donner, third-year senior midfielder
Ryan Michelsen, junior forward
Chris Smith, and junior forward
Jason Vullo are also repeat performers. They are joined by sophomore defender
Cam Murdie who earned his first national academic honor.
*** To support a nomination, each soccer player must have competed in 90% of the team's games and have started 66% of each contest while maintaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
What is College Sports Communicators?
College Sports Communicators (CSC) was founded in 1957 and is a 4,100+ member national association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. From its founding in 1957 until the 2022 name change, the organization was known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The organization, which celebrated its 65th year during the 2021-22 academic year, is the second oldest management association in all of intercollegiate athletics.
