HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), the original Division III Athletic Conference which created the Be Loud, Be Proud and Be Positive Fan Code of Conduct, began recognizing positive sportsmanship within the league during the 2013-14 academic year.
Today, the AMCC released the Spring AMCC All-Sportsmanship teams for Men's Volleyball , Softball and Baseball.
Similar to All-Conference Teams which are selected by head coaches in the AMCC at the conclusion of each sport season, the AMCC is proud to recognize an All-Sportsmanship Team.
The All-Sportsmanship Team is a combination of one athlete from each institution, as selected by their own teammates. An All-Sportsmanship athlete is chosen for their elevated level of ethical conduct, respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor.
Congratulations to these three first-time honorees as selected by their peers: senior LHP on the baseball team, Michael Contini (Rochester, N.Y./Rush Henrietta), freshman catcher on the softball team, Emma Gionta (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) and sophomore outside hitter on the men's volleyball team, Alex Overhoff (Hamburg, N.Y./Eden/Kean).
Earlier this year, the Fall All-Sportsmanship and the Winter All-Sportsmanship teams were announced.
