AMHERST, N.Y. - The Hilbert College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams made their first showing in the Spring Opener hosted by The University at Buffalo.
The Hawks were competing against established Division I, II and III track and field programs but the Hilbert first-year runners scored points and were impressive in their individual improved times.
Tahlia Kosek recorded the Women's Track & Field program's first individual medal and collected all 19 points for her team.

Josh Kidder and
Jamal Harris Jr. combined their talents to score 10 points for the men's team.
HIGHLIGHTS:

Nela Busovska (400M) all won their qualifying heats leading up to the final race.
Tahlia Kosek was the first Hilbert athlete to compete in four different events in a single meet.
- Kosek, on her first collegiate throw, threw her javelin 24.54 m (80'6 feet) and won the women's division.
- Kosek finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.40 m (4'7 feet) before missing all three attempts at 4'9.
- Kosek started her day with an 8th place (1 pt) finish in the 100m high hurdles.

The Men's and Women's teams will continue to train for their next outdoor meet in two weeks. Hilbert will return to the UB campus to participate in the UB Alumni Meet April 22nd.
