HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released the 2021 Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll today, and the nine league coaches were split down the middle as to who would close the fall semester at the top. Both Medaille College and Penn State Behrend have been selected as preseason favorites while Mount Aloysius rounded out the top three spots.
Hilbert College's head coach
Jeff Hallenbeck will guide the Hawks when they return to action this September. He beings this third year mentoring the men's soccer program but due to the COVID-19 pandemic which canceled the fall 2020 season, Hallenbeck officially begins his second NCAA season on the sidelines.
Penn State Behrend senior forward Logan Brinsky and Pitt-Bradford senior midfielder Chase Rider have been voted the AMCC Preseason Offensive Co-Players of the Year while Penn State Behrend senior midfielder Christian Eckberg was selected as the AMCC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Hilbert's academic-senior defender
Stephen Wetherell is mentioned in the
Players to Watch section of the poll; he returns to the program as a three-year captain after playing every minute of every game since his arrival in 2018.
The AMCC Championship tournament begins October 30th with the top six team's moving into post-season play. The AMCC Title game will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on November 6 with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
