HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College Men's Soccer dropped a 2-0 AMCC contest to La Roche on Tuesday evening at Hawk Field. The Hawks generated five first-half shots and held a slight edge in the opening minutes before the Redhawks scored once in each half.
Hilbert created two quality chances in the opening three minutes of the match as
Brian Frazer and
Ethan Masse each placed shots on goal, but both attempts were turned away. The Hawks recorded five of their six shots during the first half and trailed by just one goal after the opening 45 minutes.
La Roche opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and carried the 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Hamso Dagane accounted for two first-half shot attempts for Hilbert, while
Vincent Nkurunziza added another opportunity late in the period.
The Redhawks doubled their lead in the 54th minute and limited the Hawks to one second-half shot. Hilbert's lone attempt after the break came from Dagane in the 47th minute.
Goalkeeper
Colten Wolowski finished with five saves, including four in the second half.
Dagane led the Hawks with three shots, while Frazer and Masse recorded Hilbert's two shots on goal.
