KENMORE, N.Y. – The Hilbert College bowling team is literally on a roll.
The Hawks defeated Medaille College for the first time in program history tonight before they dropped a 5-game baker match defeat. Hilbert improved to 5-5 overall while Medaille slipped to 9-5 and suffered their first traditional match defeat of the season.
The Hawks opened the night with an 823 – 813 traditional match win over the Mavs. Junior

Mattison Arnett led Hilbert with matching 170 scores, just two pins ahead of freshman

Victoria Kurdziel added 158 and 157 scores respectively.
Medaille took the night cap, winning the total pin fall baker match by 91 pins (854-763). The score was tight after the first baker (179-172) but the Mavs sprinted out to an 86-pin lead after three games. The Hawks rebounded with a 189-152 win in the 4th yet lost ground in the final game (134-176) which led to the loss.
Kurdziel led the charge notching an 18.0 baker score trailed by Arnett's 15.40 tally.
The Hawks return to AMCC action this weekend when they head back to Erie, Pa. for the second Round Robin match of the season. Hilbert will face Medaille, Penn State Behrend and St. Vincent College again, but this time in traditional matches on Saturday.
Hilbert then heads back to Classic Lanes on Sunday for a day-long series at the Medaille Invite March 7.
