As we close out the month of March, AMCC baseball teams will look forward to moving into the beginning of conference play this Wednesday, March 29. The AMCC Baseball Game of the Week features Hilbert College (5-6) traveling to Penn State Behrend (6-8) on Wednesday afternoon. 

Hilbert looks to continue to build off of a record-setting year in 2016. The Hawks set a new single season win record (11), tied their AMCC single season win record (6) and became the first team in the program's 12-year AMCC membership history to qualify for post season play, earning the #5 seed in the conference tournament. The Hawks enter Wednesday's game with a 5-6 overall record and are led offensively by senior catcher Ryan Bonafede who leads the AMCC in batting average (.588), doubles (8), on base percentage (.660), and slugging percentage (.971), and ranks third in RBI (15). Freshman pitcher Henry Bowers is tied for first in the conference with three wins on the season and ranks sixth with a 2.37 ERA.

Behrend earned a #3 seed in the AMCC conference tournament a year ago and finished as conference runner-up after a hard-fought tournament, as well as being the ECAC Southwest Region runner-up. Entering the Game of the Week with a 6-8 overall record, Behrend is led by sophomore infielder Scott Sada, who is tied for the top spot in the conference with seven stolen bases and is second with seven doubles, and third with 13 runs scored. Senior pitcher Jack Herzing leads the conference with 28 strikeouts, while sophomore Phil Myers is third with a .98 ERA, and Sada ranks second with two saves.
