BRADFORD, Pa. – Pitt-Bradford held the Hawks scoreless in the first game and took a 9-2 night cap victory for the sweep against Hilbert College April 17.
John Babocsi earned the Hawks single RBI during the AMCC double header and
Anthony Wurstner connected for a team-best three hits.
The first game was competitive with a 1-0 Bradford lead through five innings. The Hawks were held in the top of the 6th inning but Bradford connected for four runs in the bottom half to take their 5-0 lead.
Wrurstner,

Noah Rasnik each earned singles for Hilbert but the Hawks just couldn't connect them all together in the loss.
Sal Carroccia traveled all six innings on the mound and gave up 8 hits with 2 walks while striking out four.
In contrast, the second game had more action early and limited movement around the bags after the fourth inning. Bradford opened the game with four runs by the top of the 3rd before they extended their lead by five more at the bottom of the fourth.
Hilbert found single runs in the top of both the fourth and fifth innings.
Kevin Moore was walked and
Joe Pernick earned a trip to first after getting hit by a pitch.
Michael Vogel singled to load the bases and
Michael Best reached on a fielding error to send Moore home for the only score in the middle inning. Bradford got out the inning with two more fielder's choice outs, Pernick out at home and Best out at third.
The Hawks earned three hits in the 5th inning when Babocsi tapped Hilbert's second run home. Wrustner led off with a single to left field and was followed by Moore's identical hit.
Tyler Roth went two innings taking the loss on the mound.
Patrick Matkowsky also went two innings and between the opening pitchers, they combined for 9 hits, 9 runs with two strike outs.
Tyler Wangler and
Justin Hulbert stretched their coverage over the next two innings for two strike outs.
