Hilbert College Athletics

Melanie Basile helped lift Hilbert twice in the win column and she earned her first Hawk of the Week honor.

The freshman designated hitter earned a .455 batting average in three AMCC games last leading her softball team in a series split with Penn State Altoona (L 3-2, W 7-2) before she catapulted her Hawks in a 17-15 rain-soaked win over Mt. Aloysius April 28.

The Williamsville South product notched her first collegiate home run in the third inning before she reached beyond the fence with a grand slam in the 4^th inning to give Hilbert a 17-0 lead.  She finished the game with three hits, 5RBI and scored three runs.

She finished the week going 5-for-11 with three runs scored and 6 RBI.
