Treyton delaCuesta played a key role in the Hawks upset win over #19 La Roche College over the weekend and earned his first Hawk of the Week honor.

The junior from Mullen High School (Centennial, CO) moved into the lineup as a power-hitting 1st baseman when the Hawks took the field against La Roche College April 7.  Hilbert split the series with the Redhawks, dropping a 5-2 opening game before they jumped out with a big lead in the nightcap and held-on for an 11-9 win.

delaCuesta went 3-for-8 on the day (.375) but it was his 3-hit, 2RBI performance that helped lift the Hawks to victory over La Roche for the first time since 2012.

He started the Hawks big six-run rally in the 3rd inning with a triple to right field and scored Hilbert’s first run.  delaCuesta singled again in the 7th and scored the Hawks final run of the day helping to create a five-run lead.
