Ian Moran really stepped-up his game last week and for his efforts, the freshman was selected as a Hawk of the Week.

Moran’s speed and timing allowed him to steal seven bases in Hilbert’s double header at D’Youville April 12 as he continued to attack the base paths.  The freshman from Fort Drum, NY (Richmond Hill) finished the day going 3-for-8 (.375) with an RBI, 2-runs scored and a pair of walks as the Hawks split with the Spartans. 

He earned three stolen bases in the opening game loss (6-1) and then came back with four more in the night cap victory (8-4).

With 15 games still to be played this spring, Moran has already set a new Hilbert baseball Single Season stolen base record with 19.  He is currently ranked #1 in the AMCC league and #10 in DIII in stolen bases as well as #3 in DIII with a 0.95 stolen bases per game average (4/13/17).
