Masia Phillips was a steady force for the men’s basketball team and he picked up his third Hawk of the Week honor and second this month.
Phillips totaled 41 points, 14 rebounds and 15 assists through three Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games. The 6-1 guard averaged 13.7 points and five assists per game in Hilbert’s losses to La Roche (93-79), Penn State Behrend (85-80) and Mt. Aloysius (73-63).
The Queens High School of Teaching product tossed in 17 points and tied his season high with seven assists against La Roche. He added nine points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in a nail-biting loss in Erie, Pa and then closed the week with 15 points, six rebounds, six more assists and one steal at Mt. Aloysius.
Phillips leads the Hawks in scoring with a 14.3 points per game average.
