Katelyn Proy closed her colligate career on fire and picked up her seventh Hawk of the Week honor after four years of hoops at Hilbert College.
The Tonawanda (Kenmore West) native tallied 49 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and was credited with seven block shots as the women's basketball team went 2-0 at the end of the regular season. Proy averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 block shots in the Hawks' 19-point win against D'Youville and the 12 point victory over Pitt-Greensburg.
Proy posted a career-high 27 points, hitting 12-of-15 shots from the floor and 3-of-4 from the foul line as the Hawks swept D'Youville (72-53) in Buffalo Cup action. Additionally, the senior captain added six block shots, and four assists along with nine rebounds.
Three days later, and 22 points away from hitting 1,000 in her career, Proy shared game-high scoring honors and hit 1K right on the nose with just 65 seconds to spare. The Hawks beat Greensburg 67-55 and Proy, again was effective from the floor, knocking down 9-of-14 shots.
The 6’2 Proy leads all of Division III with 83 Blocks and 3.32 Blocks per game. She is ranked 4th in the league in rebounding (8.6 rpg) and 3rd in field goal percentage (.498) while chipping in 11.4 points per game.
