HAMBURG, N.Y. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) annually recognizes the academic excellence and commitment of collegiate men's basketball student-athletes through its Honors Court. For just the second time in program history, three Hilbert College men's basketball players have earned a spot on the NABC Honors Court in the same year.
Andy Herrick (Salamanca, N.Y./Salamanca), after completing his second year of competition, joins graduating seniors
Ronnie Lewis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Thomas Jefferson) and
Nathan Moore (Limerick, Ireland) as 2025 NABC Honors Court honorees.
To qualify for the Honors Court, student-athletes must be juniors or seniors academically, compete on the varsity team, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at an NCAA or NAIA institution with an NABC member head coach.
Moore, a Psychology major, and Lewis, who studied Forensic Science and Crime Scene Investigation, concluded their Hilbert careers by earning their first NABC Honors Court recognition. Herrick, a Digital Media and Communications major, finished his junior year with a perfect 4.0 GPA through four semesters.
On the court, Moore averaged 9.1 points per game and led the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) in 3-point field goal percentage. He was named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team and was selected by his teammates to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Lewis started 23 games during his final season, posting career-highs of 15 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in a single game, along with recording a double-double during the 2024–25 campaign.
While Herrick saw limited game action, he was honored for his academic accomplishments with induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in April.
Since Rob deGrandpre took over the program 23 years ago, 13 Hilbert men's basketball student-athletes have been named to the NABC Honors Court. Previous honorees include:
Ryan Brewster (2013-14 & 2014-15), Kyle Kline (2016-17), Hunter Martineau (2018-19 & 2019-20), Daniel McFarland (2011-12 & 2012-13), Zac Miller (2021- 22 & 2022- 23), Masia Phillips (2019-20), Christian Przybyla (2019-20 & 2020-21), Dallas Reinard (2006- 07 & 2007-08), Trevor Stark (2013--14 & 2014-15), and Cody Troutman (2009-10).
