HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for October 27, 2025.
Christian Hamilton Jr (Football) and Ja'Lynn Sanders (Women's Soccer) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week.
Freshman Christian Hamilton Jr. (Erie, PA / Charter School of Excellence Skills Center) recorded two touchdowns in Hilbert's Liberty League matchup against RPI (4-0 LL) on October 25. The 5'6" slot back became the first player in 2025 to score a rushing touchdown against the 6-1 Engineers - and he did it twice. Hamilton broke free for a 67-yard touchdown run on the Hawks' opening possession, tying the game at 7-7 with less than two minutes off the clock. He added his second score in the third quarter, capping a three-play drive that began inside the red zone after a Hilbert fumble recovery. Hamilton finished with 80 rushing yards on seven carries (11.4 avg.), becoming just the second player in Hilbert Football history to record two touchdowns in a single game.
Freshman Ja'Lynn Sanders (Bradenton, FL / Palmetto) continues to be a driving force for the women's soccer team. The 5'8" forward tallied seven points, notching her second hat trick of the season along with an assist in the Hawks' 7-1 victory over Pitt-Bradford. The rookie striker beat the keeper in the first two minutes and again in the 18th minute against the Panthers. She finished the day with another hit just 90 seconds into the second half en route to the lop-sided win. Sanders also led Hilbert with four shots in the 0-0 draw at Penn State Altoona over the weekend. She maintains her No. 1 ranking in the AMCC in goals (15), points (34), and shots (92).
