LAST GAME
Hilbert fell to 0-5 (0-3 in Liberty League) last time out following a 45-14 defeat to St. Lawrence University on the road.
The Saints struck early with a pair of long touchdown passes and continued the offensive output, scoring the game's first four touchdowns to open up a 28-0 lead, before the Hawks got on the board.
Hilbert's breakthrough came late in the first half with a sustained, methodical drive. QuarterbackÂ
Darrion Montgomery guided the Hawks on an 11-play, 80-yard march, capped by a 1-yard touchdown run by freshmanÂ
Joseph Edick. The drive featured steady contributions fromÂ
Mike Hanlon,Â
Christian Hamilton Jr, and Edick, as Hilbert's offensive line controlled the tempo in the trenches.
Montgomery added another Hilbert score in the fourth quarter, his first as a Hawk. The sophomore quarterback broke free for a 47-yard touchdown run to make it 45-14, which ultimately closed the scoring. Montgomery finished with 65 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries and also completed his lone pass attempt — a 25-yard completion toÂ
Nicholas West.
Hanlon anchored the rushing attack with 20 carries for 79 yards (4.0 avg.), while Edick posted 42 yards and a touchdown on nine attempts. Hamilton contributed 26 yards, andÂ
Franklin McFadden added a 15-yard run in his lone carry of the day.
Hilbert's defense was led by senior linebackerÂ
Scotty Winchell, who recorded a game-high nine tackles, including half a sack.Â
Kooper Aiken tallied two tackles for loss, whileÂ
Clifford Zeigler registered a 10-yard sack.

The Yellowjackets opened the 2025 season strong, winning their first three contests — including a 38–17 victory over Olivet, a 30–14 road win at SUNY Morrisville, and a 28–21 triumph against St. John Fisher. Since then, the Rochester has stumbled in conference play, falling to Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute and Ithaca in consecutive weeks.

Quarterbacks Shawn Bellenger and Victor Moran have combined for 701 passing yards and seven touchdowns.
Defensively, Rochester has been steady all year, allowing just 18.6 points per game and forcing 12 turnovers, including eight interceptions. Linebacker Braydon Felsinger leads the unit with 51 total tackles and two interceptions, while Victor Little leads the way with three sacks.
The Yellowjackets are coached by Chad Martinovich, who is in his seventh season leading the program.
Martinovich is coming off his best season with the University of Rochester in 2024, as the 'Jackets opened the year with five-straight wins and finished with a 6-5 (2-4 Liberty League) record, the most wins since 2007 and Rochester's best record since 2015. The Yellowjackets made their first bowl appearance since 2007, and just the fourth in program history, playing in the ECAC Clayton Chapman Bowl at SUNY Brockport, while 11 'Jackets earned All-Liberty League honors, a trio earned D3football.com All-Region honors and two received All-America recognition, including consensus First-Team All-American Jordy Tawa, who was recognized as a First-Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press, D3football.com and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
