LAST GAME
Hilbert dropped to 0–6 (0–3 Liberty League) following a 38–0 road loss at Rochester.
The Hawks' defense held strong early, forcing a missed field goal on the Yellowjackets' opening drive, and later halting a drive with a Zach Brown interception.

However, following the interception, the Rochester offense put together five straight scoring drives to gain control of the game and pull away from the Hawks.

Linebacker Scotty Winchell paced the defense with eight total tackles, while Da'Von Cockrell and Clifford Zeigler each added key stops behind the line of scrimmage.

Offensively, quarterback Darrion Montgomery gained 29 yards on eight rushes, while Christian Hamilton Jr rushed seven times for 28 yards. Noah Workman completed one of his two pass attempts, a 31-yard gain to Bryce Robinson.

Workman also handled all the kicking and punting duties, averaging 38 yards per punt with a long of 44. Jareese Gaines and Amari Wilbon combined for over 90 kickoff return yards.

STATS

Hilbert continues to rely on a physical rushing attack, averaging 181.5 yards per game on the ground.

Sophomore Mike Hanlon leads the Hawks with 410 rushing yards on 100 carries (4.1 avg.), while Christian Hamilton Jr. has chipped in 203 yards at a 5.8-yard clip. Freshman Joseph Edick remains the team's scoring leader with two touchdowns, while Darrion Montgomery, Brody Hopkins, and Xzavier Patrick have each added one.

Through the air, Hilbert has completed 39% of its passes for 196 total yards. Bryce Robinson leads all receivers with 86 yards and a long of 31, followed by Nicholas West (60 yds).

Defensively, the Hawks are paced by linebacker Scotty Winchell (42 tackles, 2.0 TFL) and safety Da'Von Cockrell (37 tackles, 1 sack, 86-yard interception return TD). Clifford Zeigler anchors the front line with 22 tackles and two sacks, while Damon Hollister, Neven Dermady, and Xavier Johnson have each contributed to the team's eight total sacks.

On special teams, Jareese Gaines, Amari Wilbon, and Bryce Robinson handle the return duties, averaging nearly 14 yards per return.

Noah Workman (1-for-2 FG, long 28) and Angelo Schwarzott (4-for-5 PAT) share the kicking duties.

THE OPPONENT
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute enters the weekend at 5–1 overall (3–0 Liberty League) after a dominant 57–13 victory over Buffalo State.

The Engineers have won four straight since a Week 2 loss at Utica and are outscoring opponents by an average of 32.3 to 16.7 on the season.

RPI's offense is powered by senior running back Kayden White, who ranks among the Liberty League leaders with 536 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Quarterback Anthony DeMatteo has thrown for 1,147 yards and 6 touchdowns, connecting frequently with a deep receiving corps led by Paisley Nickelson (256 yds) and Josh Young (229 yds, 2 TD).

Defensively, RPI boasts one of the top units in the league, allowing just 16.7 points per game and no rushing touchdowns all year. Linebackers Miles Lafferty (44 tackles) and Matt Krauza (43 tackles) anchor the middle, while defensive lineman Owen Boland has a team-high 3.0 sacks. The secondary has recorded six interceptions, with four different players returning picks for 25 yards or more.

Special teams have also been a weapon for the Engineers — kicker Aleksandar Maric is 9-for-10 on field goals, and returner Gage Swanger has averaged 16.3 yards per punt return, including a 70-yard touchdown.

RPI is coached by Ralph Isernia, now in his 13th season leading the Engineers. Isernia has led the Engineers to a 61-29 record (.678 winning percentage) in eight seasons (9 years). The team has won six Dutchman Shoes Trophy Games and five Transit Trophy Games, earned seven post-season appearances, including three bids to the NCAA Playoffs, and captured a pair of ECAC Bowl titles.
