II track programs and did their best, established multiple personal best times, and set time records just as the program advances forward. They laid the foundation for future success.
Coaches Award:
Maddie Fusco. This first-year senior runner carried over her success from the fall cross country season and she did her best to help those around her. Fusco is a true competitor who does what ever is asked of her as she runs to exhaustion at times. Fusco won the Penn State Behrend 800m race and twice won her qualifying heat in the 1500 (UB, SJFU) and the 800 at SJFU.
Most Improved Runner Award:
Nela Busovska. As a first-year exchange student from the Czech Republic, Busovska wanted to test herself in her only year at Hilbert College. She showed impressive improvement in her technique since joining the team in February. She competed in three races focusing as a 200m and 400m sprinter, and she was still able to slice seconds off her early time to her final race of the season.
Most Valuable Runner Award:
Tahlia Kosek. Kosek was the most versatile athlete on the team competing in the javelin, high jump, 100m high hurdles and 4 x 400 relay team. She opened the outdoor T&F season winning the javelin throw (24.54m), took second in high jump (1.4m) and finished in 8th place in the 100m high hurdles collecting the very first Hilbert Individual medal and all 19 of the women's points that day. Kosek continued to compete for the Hawks in all said events and concluded the season running the fourth leg in the 4x400m race at St. John Fisher.
