AMHERST, N.Y. - As predicted, today's rain and whirling wind inside UB Stadium challenged each track and field participant but the Hawk athletes held their own and competed against the local Division I and II programs.
The Hilbert Women scored 13 points to finish in 8th place while the Men's Team recorded nine points and a 7th place finish.
The early morning light rain was tolerable until the strong winds blew through the UB campus and swirled the rain sideways while also influencing a few minor changes in race directions. Rather than have the athletes sprint directly into the wind the entire distance, the 100 high hurdles and the 100m sprints were raced on the opposite side of the track so the wind was at their backs. It was very difficult for athletes to show time improvements, but a few Hawks did slice time off their personal bests.
Maddie Fusco and
Christopher Davis took a 1st-place finish in their heat of the 1500m and both anchored their 4x 400m relay teams to 5 points.

- Kody Harrison slicked 16-seconds off his 800m time and two seconds off his 1500m best
- Josh Kidder also ran a fast 800m race showing almost a 3-second improvement
