HAMBURG, N.Y. – Brad Converse and Alex Overhoff were Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference selections today when the AMCC announced the 2023 Men's Volleyball All-Conference Team and Award Winners.
 
Converse earned a spot on the Second Team while Overhoff slotted himself into a Third Team selection,  and they became just the 5th and 6th player in Hilbert men's volleyball history to be honored by the AMCC league.
 
Penn State Behrend's Adrian Martinez and Geneva College's Bryon Spear were named the Co-Players of the Year. Shawn McSwiggen from Saint Vincent garnered the Newcomer of the Year and Penn State Behrend's Phil Pisano was selected as the AMCC Coach of the Year.
 
Brad Converse (Wheatfield, N.Y./Starpoint) and Alex Overhoff (Hamburg, N.Y./Eden/Kean) helped guide the men's volleyball team to a 6-7 league record and the ability to accept the program's first invitation to a post-season tournament.  The Hawks, North Division 3rd seed, fell in defeat to Saint Vincent College, South Division 2nd seed, and concluded their season with a 9-16 record.
 
Brad Converse was the most efficient player for the Hawks, earning 229 kills while averaging 2.73 kills per set, hitting .229 in conference play.  The 6'1 Outside Hitter was credited with 13 assists, 21 service aces, 180 digs, 28 total blocks, and averaged 3.20 points per set in conference action.  His most impressive game was at Thiel on March 15th when he collected 19 kills and added 10 digs totaling 21 points.
 
Alex Overhoff was the most well-rounded player for the Hawks in his rookie campaign. The 6'0 Outside Hitter earned 161 kills, 21 aces, 182 digs, 10 blocks, 10 assists and averaged a .161 hitting percentage. Overhoff produced two double-doubles during the season.  He produced  21 digs and 10 kills in four sets against St. Vincent February 11, and after his 10 kill (.368) five dig performance in the Hawks First Round playoff game, Overhoff was named to the 2023 All-Tournament Team.
