Hilbert College Hawks

• The 2023 Hilbert Men's Volleyball team is making the program's first appearance in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference post-season tournament.
• The Hawks (9-15) earned a 3rd seed in the North Division and will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. for their First Round play-off game.
• Hilbert (6-7) will battle against the South Division's No. 2 St. Vincent College Bearcats  (8-5) Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the Robert S. Carey Center located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Seniors Dylan Suter and Edward Brust will graduate with a memorable experience helping to guide the Hawks to the post-season on the hardwood for the first time.
• Brad Converse leads the Hawks with 3.13 points per set and 2.69 kills per set.  Chris Laboy and Alex Overhoff add 2.49 and 2.19 points per set, respectively.
• Austin Chandler, through 58 sets played, leads Hilbert with 7.21 assists per set and Ryan Levcik adds 4.00 aps (44 sets).  Chandler and Overhoff share team-high honors with 21 service aces.
• Alex Overhoff add 2.19 digs per set while Dylan Suter protects the net with 32 blocks.

St. Vincent Bearcats

• St. Vincent (10-9) will host the First Round game in the AMCC playoffs this Tuesday.
• The Bearcats secured the South Division No. 2 seed but have been colder than hotter the final three weeks of the season. They dropped a five-set loss at Penn State Altoona, then beat Wells and Hiram in three close sets.  The Bearcats closed the season with a four-set loss to Thiel and earned another close, 3-set victory over the win-less Mt. Aloysius Mounties.
• The Bearcats are led by Matthew Minkin who averages 4.15 points per set fueled by 3.77 kills per set.  Three additional St. Vincent players also averaged 3+ points per set.  Shawn McSwiggen   leads the team in service aces (39), Zebadiah Wyant is second on the team in kills, and Zach Wyant is the team leader in solo blocks and assists.  Matthew Klasnic carries the team defensively earning 2.98 digs per set.

Series History
The Hawks dropped a very competitive 4-set match, falling 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-20 to the Bearcats early in the season (Feb 11, 2023).

The Hawks earned 88 points, 47 kills, four service aces, 44 assists and 74 digs while giving up 98 points, 55 kills, seven aces, 53 assists and 79 digs to the Bearcats.

• Three Hawks reached double figure kills, led by Brad Converse's 15.  Alex Overhoff notched 10 kills and led with 21 digs while Nick Diello finished with an impressive .409 attack percent adding 11 kills and two solo blocks.  Stephen Houghton added 16 digs and Austin Chandler was credited with 40 assists in the four-set match.
• Both Zebadiah Wyant (17 digs) and Matthew Minkin recorded 17 kills and Shawn McSwinnen (2 solo blocks) added 14.  Zach Wyant finished with 44 assists ( 2 solo blocks) and Matthew Klasnic led with 20 digs.

The Bearcats hold a 4-0 record against the Hawks since both program's met on the hardwood for the first time in March 2021.
