ERIE. Pa. – The Hilbert College Women's Bowling team opened their 2023-24 season with an impressive showing at Day One of the Grapevine Classic hosted by the Erie Sports Commission and Penn State Behrend at the Eastland Bowling Center.
The Hawks rolled five traditional matches today and will throw four baker matches tomorrow.
Hilbert went 3-2 after beating D II D'Youville University, La Roche University, and Urusline College. The Hawk suffered a pair of losses to Division II programs, Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen University.
Katelyn Bean led the Hawks with a five match 178.0 average while Ashley Dixon added a 174.2 average. Jenna Angle and Paige Mullen were consistent bowlers tossing a 169.8 and 164.2 average respectively.
The Hawks return to Eastland Bowling Center tomorrow for four baker matches against
Pitt-Greensburg, William Smith, Penn State Behrend and Saint Vincent College.
