PITTSBURGH, PA. - Women's Bowling suffered a 2-0 defeat to No. 1 Saint Vincent College in the Hawks' second match of the day in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Mega Match Championship Tournament tonight.
No. 5 Hilbert lost 947-896 to the Bearcats in the total pin fall format and then suffered a 912-790 baker pin fall defeat.
Brooklyn Hannah tossed the best match with a 191 finish while
Thea Nahrebeski and
Jenna Angle recorded 183 and 183 respectively.
As a team, the Hawks were ready for the challenge against Saint Vincent in the total pin fall baker matches. Hilbert threw a 156 to the Bearcats 166 in the opening game. Hilbert then outscored SVC 175-159 in the second match but fell behind by 50 pins in the next two games to suffer a 122-pin defeat.
The Hawks return to action tomorrow morning with a 9:30 am match against No. 3 Alvernia. The Golden Wolves recorded a 2-0 win over No. 6 Pitt-Bradford this morning and then lost to No. 2 William Smith College at the end of the day.
The winner of the Hilbert/Alvernia match advances to play the loser of the 9:30 am Saint Vincent/William Smith match at 1:30 pm while the loser is eliminated.
