Brad Converse (Wheatfield, N.Y./Starpoint) was named the AMCC Men's Volleyball Player of the Week January 17.
The 6-1 freshman Outside Hitter exploded in his collegiate debut. He established himself as a threat on offense posting 31 kills, six service aces, one solo block and a pair of block assists, for 39.5 points while chipping in 13 digs in four non-conference games in back-to-back dates of competition.
Converse averaged 2.58 kills, 0.50 service aces, 1.08 digs, 1.0 blocks and 3.29 points per set.
He was credited with five kills, five service aces, two total blocks in the Hawks game against Geneva January 14. He closed that night posting six kills (.263), one ace, six digs against Nazareth. Converse found his rhythm the next day back in Rochester. He manufactured 10 kills against Juniata and repeated that feat against St. John Fisher.
Converse is ranked in the Top 5 in the AMCC in kills, kills per set, points, and hitting percentage.
