Box Score SPRINGFIELD, OH. (January 21, 2017) – Michael Podgorny posted his first double-digit kill day but the Hilbert College men's volleyball team battled to a 3-set loss to Southern Va. University this afternoon at the second day of the Jim Coleman Invitational hosted by Wittenberg University.

Hilbert played to a 25-15 opening set before they challenged the Knights in a 25-21 match.  The Hawks fell in the final set, 25-12 to close the weekend at 0-3.

Hilbert collected 17 kills today off 95 attempts and earned 36 digs while scoring points off four service aces.

Podgorny posted 11 kills and was credited with 13 digs defensively today.  For his efforts over the weekend, he was named to the All-Tournament team.  

Nicholas Rice quarterbacked the offense with 11 assists and Adam Heftka earned a pair of the Hilbert service aces.

Nathaniel Hyman earned the Hawks solo block on the day and Anthony Pellicano chipped in seven digs.
