ALTOONA, Pa. – The Hilbert College women's bowling team closed the 2019-20 season dropping four matches on Day Two of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin tournament.
The 2019-20 Hawks, under the leadership of coach
Warren Bush, become the first team in it's the program's three year history to complete its first full-season competing in both AMCC Round Robin tournaments in one season.
Victoria Kurdziel and
Mikayla Rix led Hilbert through their four final matches today.
Hilbert opened the day with a 15-pin defeat to Penn State Altoona (624-609) before they faced the top two teams in the league in back-to-back matches.
Medaille, the top team in the weekend tourney, took an 806-607 win before the second-placed Mt. Aloysius rolled to an 844-555 win. The Hawks closed the weekend with a 742-633 defeat to the Redhawks from La Roche.
Kurdziel averaged a 158.5 (high game of 173) through four games today and Rix tossed a 149.5 average (169).
Dyana Durmaj finished with a 124.3 average throwing her best game (165) against Altoona.
Mary Gould earned her career-best 130 against Medaille (94.8 average) and Doris Dai was consistent rolling a 74 average on day two.
Medaille's 7972 total pin fall (177.2 average) gave them the slim lead over Mt. Aloysius (7863) who averaged a 174.7 average.
Hilbert, after knocking down 5629 total pins (125.1 average) finished at 0-9 for the weekend.
Kurdziel finished the weekend with a 164.22 average, Dyanna Durmaj a 142.11,
Mikayla Rix a 141.56,
Mary Gould a 97.44 and
Doris Mae Dai an 80.11.
WHAT'S NEXT
