Hawk Bowlers Roll at AMCC Round Robin

ALTOONA, Pa.  – The Hilbert College women's bowling team went 0-5 on Day One of the AMCC Round Robin Team Tournament hosted by Mt. Aloysius College at the Bavarian Aid Society Lanes.
 
The Hawks rolled against the AMCC Baker Round Robin winner, St. Vincent  College (771-611), D'Youville (768-651), New Jersey City University (754-633), Pitt-Bradford (672-637) and Penn State Behrend (792-693) today.
 
Hilbert was within striking distance against Bradford, fall by just 35 pins and they strung together their best match score (693) against Penn State Behrend at the end of the day.
 
Victoria Kurdziel led the Hawk charge with a 168.8 average through five matches and sits in 11th place overall.
 
#14 Dyana Durmaj supported her with a 156.4 average followed by #29 Mikayla Rix' 135.2.
 
Mary Gould tossed a 99.6 average and Doris Dai (85) completed the five person team.
 
Kurdziel and Durmaj high scores were two pins apart, but not in the same match.  Kirdziel earned team-best score (189) vs Bradford and Durmaj finished with a 187 against Penn State Behrend.
 
The 5-0 Medaille Mavericks (181.9 hold a 5.7 pin lead over the 4-1 Mt. Aloysius Mounties (176.2).
 
The Hawks (129) trail La Roche by 0.4 pins and sit ahead of Penn State Altoona (127) as all three teams went 0-5 on the day.
 
WHAT'S NEXT

Hilbert joins the nine other AMCC teams back at the bowling alley early Sunday morning for their final four matches.  The Hawks are scheduled to roll against Penn State Altoona, Medaille, Mt. Aloysius, and La Roche.
