Martineau Named to 2018-19 NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2018-19 Honors Court this week and Hilbert College's junior point guard Hunter Martineau earned a spot on the prestigious team for his efforts in the classroom.

Martineau, a 3x Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Star athlete, continues to collect accolades heading into his final campaign on the hardwood this coming year.

The 5-11 floor general from Timber Creek High School (Orlando, Fla) carries a 3.503 cumulative grade point average after six semesters in pursuit of his Sports Industry Management degree.  He was inducted into the New York Theta chapter in the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Academic Honor Society in April 2019.  Martineau is a 3x AMCC Academic All-Conference scholar and reached his first 3.5 Peak Performer plateau in 2017-18.

In addition to his impressive academic accomplishments, Martineau is well respected for his efforts leading the Hawks basketball team. He was named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year in 2016-17 and then garnered an All-Conference Second Team award in back-to-back years.  Since his arrival on campus, Martineau has led the AMCC league in assists all three seasons and was the only conference player during the 2018-19 season to post a triple double (20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists).

Martineau joins Ryan Brewster (2013-14 & 2014-15), Kyle Kline (2016-17), Daniel McFarland (2011-12 & 2012-13), Dallas Reinard (2007-08), Trevor Stark (2013-14 & 2014-15) and Cody Troutman (2009-2010)  as a Honors Court recipient.  He is also one of eight AMCC student-athletes to be named to the Honors Court in 2018-19.

Dating back to 2006-07, the NABC has recognized male collegiate basketball student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institutions with a NABC-member coach.  These student-athletes have excelled academically while giving it their all on the hardwood.  In order to be named to the Honors Court a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically and a varsity player while earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
