AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week:
Pitt-Greensburg @ Hilbert College
Saturday, December 14 at 1:00 p.m.
The AMCC men's basketball game of the week features two of the hottest teams in the conference to date. Pitt-Greensburg and Hilbert College both enter Saturday's game with perfect 4-0 conference marks and will be looking to stay undefeated in conference play.
Pitt-Greensburg enters Saturday's AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week with an overall record of 6-1 and a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play. The Bobcats are off to their best start since they joined the NCAA ranks in 1997. Junior guard and the currently AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Matt Johnson leads the Bobcats and currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (17.4 ppg), while junior guard Cam Seigfreid adds 15.1 per game. Senior forward Cody Spaid sits second in the AMCC making 64% of his shots from the field and is fifth in rebounding (8.3).  As a team, Pitt-Greensburg sits a-top the AMCC making 50.1% of its field goal attempts and defensively are second among conference opponents, limiting teams to just 42.0% shooting from the field.
The 2019-20 Hawks, at 8-1, haven't been this hot since the 2015-16 team finished the season hosting the AMCC Championship game against Pitt-Greensburg in Hamburg. This year's team is deeper and just as consistent. The Hawks are at the top in the AMCC in scoring (82.0), lead in rebounding (41.7), and assists (15.4).  Ant Moynihan, Lazar Jovanovich and Ryan Hogan can be deadly deep, while Jacob Braniecki, Jon Evans and Warren Richardson patrol the paint. The Hawks' three seniors continue to be the driving force behind their success. Alex Karamanos does all the little things and never stops working at either end of the floor putting up 12.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg and has drawn 10 charges in nine games. Masia Phillips, who eclipsed the 1,000 marker this season, adds 12.9 ppg and joins his fellow 4-year senior Hunter Martineau for their final season together. Martineau, who earlier this season collected his second career triple double and was named the USBWA National Player of the Week, leads the Hawks in scoring 15.3 ppg, rebounding (5.9), steals and, for the 4th-year in a row, leads the AMCC in assists (7.2).
