HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College men's lacrosse team returns for their fourth trip to the North Eastern Athletic Conference post-season tournament May 2 as the number 3 seeded team.
The 2018 Hawks secured their spot after finishing the NEAC schedule with a 6-2 league record in
Mike Carbery's first year on the sidelines.
#3 Hilbert will face #2 Bryn Athyn (7-1) May 2 at 4pm in the Philadelphia, Pa suburb.
The Hawks suffered a 13-7 defeat to the Lions at Eden High School on April 7. The Royal and White built and early 2-1 lead after the first quarter, but BAC stormed back and took control of the game in the second session as they rolled to their second NEAC win of the season.
Bryn Athyn has scored 114 NEAC goals (14.25 gpg) while the Hawks have tallied 90 (11.25 gpg). Hilbert has scored 14 man-up goals and one man-down goals and had posted 286 ground balls to the Lions 252.
The Lions have committed the fewest turnovers (115).
The Hawks have given up 57 goals while making 82 saves while Bryn Athyn finished the season with 50 goals against with 82 saves as well.
Jon Carr (47 points) and Nolan Frame (42 goals/46 pts) lead the attack for BAC. The Hawks need to beat Brad DePasquale who averages a league-best 6.32 goals against average.
The Hawks have many weapons but are led by
Edward Mathias who is ranked #3 in the NEAC in goals and shots.
James Duffy is second in assists and points and
Joshua Schindler is #9 in goals.
Joseph Stevenson is #2 with 58.6% save percentage with a league-best 67 goals against (7.03 goals against average).
