HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Hilbert College men's basketball Tip-Off Tournament is about to begin!

Instead of  the opening weekend Tip-Off Tournament, it can be viewed now as the New Year Tip-Off, as it falls in early January due to the weather-related postponement in November.

Hilbert College welcomes John Carroll University, Nazareth College and SUNY Potsdam to Hamburg for the two-day tournament scheduled for January 3 and 4.

John Carroll (7-2) takes on Nazareth College (2-5) at 3pm January 3, while the Hawks (7-0) play host to Potsdam (1-5) at 5pm.  

The winners advance to the championship game (3pm)  on Sunday, January 4 while the two opening round losing teams will battle in the consolation game at 1pm.

All four games will be streamed live via HilbertHawks.com and complete box scores will be posted on the Hilbert men's basketball schedule page.

There will be a $5 admission charge for all fans visiting the Hafner Recreation Center each day.  

Also, the men's basketball team continues to partner-up with the Buffalo City Mission each year in an effort to raise additional funds and awareness of the needs of the clients who use the Mission's services.  

There will be a donation jar at the admissions door for anyone who wishes to contribute.  It only takes $1.98 to make sure a hot meal is available during the cold winter months.
