Antonio Alvarez’ all-around play propelled him to his first Hawk of the Week honor.

The freshman from Brockport posted 23 points and added nine rebounds as Hilbert went 1-0 last week. The 6-3 guard shot 9-for-15 from the field and provided two blocks and one steal in the Hawks 79-65 road win at Pitt.-Greensburg.

The men’s basketball team, 7-4 overall, sit in a two-way tie for second place in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference with a 5-1 record. Alvarez, who has earned 10 starts in his rookie campaign, averages 7.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 25.6 minutes per game.
