The athletics department honors the captains of each of the fall sports programs by designating them as Hawks of the Week. These team captains provided leadership on and off the field of competition this semester, keeping their teammates mentally and physically involved in skill improvement and cultural connection.
Women’s soccer head coach Jenna Castricone announced a pair of third-year seniors, Brittany Profetta and Amber Stuck, as this year’s captains. Profetta, who missed her sophomore campaign on the pitch at Hilbert, and Stuck, who accelerated her academic progress as an undergrad, earned the leadership role based on their positive attitudes, commitment to and involvement within the program. They have served as role models, been vocal leaders on an off the field, have taken charge of group activities, and have held their teammates accountable.
Forward Brittany Profetta (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) was a two-year starter (2017, 2019) for the Hawks. She netted two career goals (six points), both against Medaille, with her 2017 mark tallied as the game-winner. She is a two-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference student-athlete while earning a Peak Performer (3.5+ gpa) award both years. Profetta was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Academic Honor Society in April 2020 and she contributed to the Hilbert Women’s Soccer program’s impressive academic streak of earning the highest gpa of all the women’s soccer programs in the AMCC league (8 of 9 years). In both 2017 and 2019, the Hawks posted a team gpa of 3.564 and 3.480, respectively.
