Tyler Balsavage continues to anchor the men’s lacrosse defensive core and, for his steady play last week, he has been selected a Hawk of the Week.

Balsavage helped the Hawks win their first home-game victory in Hamburg as he led them in Caused Turnovers for the week. The freshman from Lancaster earned six caused turnovers and scooped eight ground balls as the Hawks went 1-1 in NEAC action.

In the 14-7 loss at Keuka, he was credited with four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Over the weekend in Hamburg, Balsavage held his footing on the sloppy wet grass and picked-up five ground balls while causing two turnovers in Hilbert’s lopsided 18-2 victory over Cobleskill.

Balsavage is currently ranked #1 in the NEAC league having earned 26 caused turnovers in 10 games and was #13 in the most recent DIII rankings with 2.67 caused turnovers per game (April 13).
