MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Hilbert College Women's Soccer earned a 2-0 victory over Paul Smith's College this afternoon at the Morrisville Tournament to finish the weekend 1-1. The victory, Hilbert's first of 2026, marked the first career collegiate victory for Head Coach Hannah Callaghan.
The Hawks controlled play throughout the contest, holding a 35-3 advantage in shots and a 19-2 edge in shots on goal.
Hilbert broke through in the 29th minute when
Acadia Evans finished a pass from
Evin Stauffer to give the Hawks a well-deserved lead. Evans collected a pass from Stauffer and placed a one-timer into the upper-right corner of the net to give the Hawks a 1-0 advantage at the 28:34 mark.
The Hawks continued to generate opportunities throughout the afternoon, forcing Paul Smith's goalkeeper Peyton Hoffman to make 17 saves. Hilbert put 14 shots on goal in the opening half and added 21 total attempts after the break while limiting the Bobcats to just two shots on target for the match.
After maintaining the one-goal lead for much of the second half, Hilbert added an insurance marker in the 81st minute. Stauffer again provided the setup, finding
Ja'Lynn Sanders in front of goal, where the sophomore forward found the back of the net to double the advantage to 2-0.
The Hilbert defense completed the shutout behind goalkeeper
Keira McFarland, who stopped both shots on goal she faced. The Hawks allowed just three total shots and one corner kick over the full 90 minutes.
Sanders led the attack with 12 shots and five shots on goal, while
Valentina Hauser added seven shots, including six on target. Stauffer contributed two assists and six shots, while Evans finished with a goal on three shots on target.
