HAMBURG, N.Y. –
Cal Crosby has been named the 2026 Hilbert College | Sal Buscaglia Coach of the Year, following a historic season with the Women's Volleyball program.
In his fifth season leading the Hawks, Crosby led Hilbert to a 20-11 campaign, breaking program records for most wins and fewest losses in a season.
The Hawks began the season with three consecutive wins and later strung together a nine-game winning streak, the longest in team history. In conference play, Hilbert went 5-3 to earn the first home playoff game in program history.
With a 3-0 victory over La Roche inside the Hafner Recreation Center, the Hawks advanced to the AMCC semifinals for the first time, where the Hawks would ultimately fall in a five-set thriller to Mount Aloysius.
Crosby and his staff led a trio of Hawks to All-Conference honors, as
Lindsay Madigan (Co-Newcomer of the Year and Second Team),
Molly McKinnon (Third Team), and
Jade Schiller (Third Team) all were recognized by the AMCC following the season.
Under Crosby's guidance, the Hawks set new single season program records in Wins (20), fewest losses (11), kills (1,323), attempts (4,519), assists (1,201), service aces (311), total blocks (153.0), block assists (164), digs (2,143), and points (1787.0) as well as per set: kills (10.76), assists (9.76), aces (2.53), digs (17.42), points (14.53).
