HAMBURG, N.Y. –Women's Volleyball freshman Lindsay Madigan has been named the 2025-26 Hilbert College Female Athlete of the Year, as selected by the Hawks' head coaches and support staff.

In just her first year of NCAA competition, Madigan helped lead the Women's Volleyball program to new heights in the 2025 season.

The first-year setter did it all for the Hawks in her rookie campaign on her way to earning AMCC Co-Newcomer of the Year honors, as well as a Second-Team All-Conference nod. Madigan led Hilbert with 320.5 points, while her 395 assists, 306 digs, 58 service aces, 2.72 points per set, and 248 kills were all good for top three on the Hawks. Madigan was the only AMCC player this year to total at least 300 points and 300 assists, and her seven triple doubles tied her for the Division III lead.

The Warren, PA native was a key contributor to a team that established 13 new single-season records, along with setting program marks for most wins and fewest losses in a season. The 20–11 Hawks also captured the program's first postseason victory, earning them a place in the program's first-ever AMCC semifinal.

Madigan's historic freshman season saw her finish inside the top ten on the program's single season kills, service aces, attack attempts, service aces per set, points, and points per set lists.
Academically, Madigan put together a pair of 4.0 GPA semesters and earned AMCC Academic All-Conference and Peak Performer honors.

The Hilbert College Athletic Department has recognized one male and one female student-athlete as the department's Athletes of the Year since 2017-18. With her recognition this year, Madigan becomes both the first freshman (male or female) and the first Women's Volleyball student-athlete to earn this honor.
